Jagran Correspondent, Bareilly. On Monday, departmental officials took action on allegations of creating arbitrary bills and mishandling the One-Time Settlement (OTS). Services of 11 contractual employees stationed at 12 meter readers and substations were terminated, while charge sheets were issued to 15 Junior Engineers (JE).
Under the Uttar Pradesh Power Distribution Zone-First, contractual employees were assigned the target of registering 100 consumers each for OTS revenue collection in rural and urban areas. The accusation is that 11 contractual employees failed to register 40% of consumers as per the target in the OTS plan.
Simultaneously, other allegations of negligence in the operation of the scheme were leveled against these contractual employees. Meanwhile, a charge sheet has been issued until December 15 for answering the allegations of negligence in handling OTS and not registering consumers according to the target for 15 JEs deployed in most of the sub-centers, including Aonla, Fatehganj.
Moreover, 12 meter readers stationed in areas falling under Aonla, Bahedi, and Rural Division-First were dismissed from their jobs on charges of creating incorrect bills despite accurate meter readings.
In response to the allegations of incorrect billing, services of 12 meter readers and 11 contractual employees were terminated due to negligence in OTS. New employees will be deployed in their positions from January 1. Clarifications on negligence in OTS have been sought from 15 JEs. – Ranvijay Singh, Chief Engineer, Power Distribution Bareilly Zone-First.
