Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made an announcement on Tuesday that is set to bring joy to beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme. He declared that these beneficiaries will receive a complimentary cooking gas cylinder as a “Diwali gift.” This generous decision is expected to benefit around 1.75 crore families within the state.
Addressing the gathering in Bulandshahr, the chief minister reminisced about the challenges people faced before the BJP government took charge at the national level in 2014, highlighting the difficulties in securing LPG gas connections.
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a prominent initiative of the central government aimed at providing financial assistance for LPG connections to families living below the poverty line (BPL).
In addition to this remarkable announcement, the chief minister celebrated the achievements of other BJP-led programs. He noted that 55 lakh women in Uttar Pradesh have become homeowners thanks to the PM Awas Yojna, and the ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign has resulted in the construction of 2.75 lakh toilets within the state.
“In the last nine years, we have all witnessed a new India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This new India is prosperous, powerful, and self-reliant,” he said.
Yogi Adiyanath highlighted that this new India benefits everyone, particularly the youth and women of the country. He pointed out that the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign has borne fruit, with Indian athletes like Parul Chaudhary (women’s 5000m) and Annu Rani (javelin) winning gold medals in the Asian Games. He shared that both athletes will be appointed as deputy SPs and rewarded with financial incentives for their accomplishments. A felicitation ceremony will be held in their honor, and they will also receive government jobs.
The chief minister expressed his appreciation for the central government’s initiatives in the sports sector, such as “Khelo India” and “Fit India,” which have contributed to Indian athletes winning medals in international events.
