Shah Rukh Khan has collaborated with numerous prominent filmmakers, spanning from Bollywood to the South. However, there are directors before whom Shah Rukh Khan seems to be unable to make a significant impact.
New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom is not limited to India alone; it extends globally. King Khan has delivered several outstanding films in his career that have been widely appreciated worldwide. Shah Rukh Khan has worked with many leading filmmakers, ranging from Bollywood to the South. However, there are directors before whom Shah Rukh Khan appears to be entirely unable to leave a lasting mark. One such director is Prashant Neel, and Shah Rukh Khan has been making headlines lately due to his film “Dunki.”
“Dunki” is Shah Rukh Khan’s third film this year, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Alongside “Dunki,” Prashant Neel’s “Salaar Part 1” has also been released. However, “Dunki” has faced considerable challenges at the box office, especially in comparison to the remarkable bookings received by Shah Rukh Khan’s films “Pathan” and “Jawaan,” owing to the release of “Salaar.”
This is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan has encountered difficulties with Prashant Neel’s film. Five years ago, Shah Rukh Khan faced a similar situation with the director’s film “KGF Chapter 1.” At that time, Shah Rukh Khan’s film was “Zero,” directed by Aanand L Rai. “Zero” struggled to match up to the success of Prashant Neel’s “KGF Chapter 1,” and the fate of “Zero” turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in Shah Rukh Khan’s career. Now, after five years, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” seems to be facing a similar challenge against “Salaar.” Although the fate of “Dunki” is not as dire as that of “Zero,” it is evident that the film is not performing as expected.
