Despite some surprise, residents of New York City remain unfazed by the impending snowstorm, while meteorologists assure that it will be short-lived.
New York City is preparing for yet another bout of snowfall this weekend, following closely on the heels of the recent winter storm which deposited approximately 4 inches of snow.
A swiftly advancing low-pressure system is expected to bring snow to the city starting late Friday night and continuing until Saturday morning, as per the National Weather Service.
During this period, snowfall rates may intensify, reaching up to 1 inch per hour between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. The NWS forecasts that the city could receive between 2 to 4 inches of snow before the storm dissipates by midday Saturday.
Fox News meteorologist Samantha Thomas noted the potential for multiple snow events this week.
“The projected snow totals have slightly increased in the past few days,” Thomas remarked, alluding to the storm on Tuesday that led to school closures.
