HanuMan, Teja Sajja’s superhero film, is making waves not just in India but also in international markets, earning praise and a robust box office collection. The movie, directed by Prasanth Varma, garnered Rs 14.50 crore on day four, bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 55.15 crore. Impressively, its worldwide collection stands at Rs 72.15 crore.
Set in the fictional village of Anjanadri, HanuMan has become the first hit of 2024, surpassing expectations and outperforming other recent releases. The film features a stellar cast, including Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty, and Vinay Rai. Occupancy rates in Telugu regions reached 80.11%, with Hyderabad leading at 90%, followed by 72.72% in Bengaluru and 67.75% in Chennai.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh notes that HanuMan’s box office performance in its initial four days has surpassed renowned films like KGF, Kantara, and Pushpa. The film faced competition from other releases during the Makar Sankranti and Pongal celebrations in South India, clashing with Guntur Kaaram, Saindhav, and Naa Saami Ranga.
Internationally, HanuMan has achieved a milestone by breaching the $3 million mark in North America, securing its position among the top ten highest-grossing Telugu films in the USA. The film’s success is attributed to its captivating storyline, impressive performances, and widespread appeal to diverse audiences.
