Vikas Malu was one of the three individuals injured in a mishap where a Rolls-Royce collided with an oil tanker on the Delhi-Mumbai-Baroda Expressway, resulting in fatalities. Among those hurt, Vikas Malu, the director of Kuber Group, sustained injuries in the occurrence that unfolded near Umri village in Nuh. The incident caused the oil tanker to overturn, and earlier speculations suggested that the tanker had been driving on the wrong side, leading to the collision. However, based on an FIR filed on August 22 at the Nagina police station, it was revealed that the luxury car approached from behind and struck the front tire of the oil tanker, causing it to lose balance and tip over.
The individual identified by the police as the industrialist Malu was among the passengers in the Rolls-Royce, which was traveling at an estimated speed of 200 km/h at the time of impact. The case against the driver of the luxury vehicle was registered, but due to the occupants’ medical conditions, statements from them are pending. As of now, the driver’s identity has not been definitively confirmed.
Kuber Group director Vikas Malu’s background is as follows:
- Vikas Malu is the proprietor and director of Kuber Group, initially specializing in tobacco products.
- He is associated with a business empire that spans across 45 ventures in around 50 countries. Reportedly, he supervises the activities of 12 companies within the group.

- His legal representative, RK Thakur, informed India Today that Malu was not in a condition to drive the car and that his driver, Tasbir, was at the wheel. Thakur argued that driving slowly on an expressway can sometimes be riskier. However, he also clarified that Malu didn’t instruct the driver to go fast or slow.

- Notably, Malu had recently made headlines after his second wife, Saanvi Malu, wrote to the Delhi Police Commissioner, accusing him of being involved in the death of actor Satish Kaushik.
- Saanvi alleged that Kaushik had lent her husband ₹15 crore, and an argument ensued when he tried to reclaim the money. She suspected foul play in Kaushik’s death at Malu’s farmhouse, implying that he might have been poisoned. However, the police dismissed this claim, attributing Kaushik’s demise to a heart attack based on the autopsy report.
