In Kasganj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the government will focus on finding a lasting remedy for the flood problem in the district once the water levels go down.
On Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath carried out both aerial and ground assessments of flood-affected regions in Farrukhabad, Kasganj, and Shahjahanpur districts. He also evaluated the ongoing relief and rescue operations.
Addressing the media in Farrukhabad, he noted, “Currently, 721 villages in 21 districts of the state are grappling with floods, while on the opposite spectrum, there’s drought. This peculiar situation is evident throughout the entire state.”
He further mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has experienced varying patterns of rainfall distribution: 12 districts saw above-average rainfall, 26 districts received normal rainfall, 22 districts encountered below-average precipitation, and 15 districts faced conditions nearly resembling drought.
“In response to the challenges arising from these conditions, the government has set up 1,101 flood shelters and 1,504 flood posts across the state. Moreover, over 2,000 medical teams have been assembled to provide healthcare, and relief operations are underway with the deployment of 2,040 boats,” the Chief Minister elaborated. He also emphasized that the government was proactive in its preparedness for floods and was well-prepared in advance.
Regarding Farrukhabad, he shared that the Ganga and Ramganga rivers had led to flooding in 116 villages, affecting around 80,000 residents. Chief Minister Adityanath announced that 22 houses that were completely destroyed would be replaced under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.
During his interactions with flood-affected individuals to whom he distributed essential relief supplies, the Chief Minister assured that the “double-engine government” was standing in solidarity with the affected people during these trying times. He guaranteed timely compensation for the affected populace.
Highlighting the government’s efforts in caring for animals, he stated that 840 cattle feed camps were established and over 28 lakh animals received vaccinations. He also added that the government was progressing in the process of providing timely compensation by surveying farmers whose crops had been ravaged by the floods.
In the context of Kasganj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pledged that once the water recedes, the government would actively pursue a permanent solution to the flood predicament in the district.
