Rahul Gandhi is set to travel to Jaipur today to join his mother, who is temporarily relocating to the city due to concerns about air quality in Delhi. Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who has respiratory issues, is advised by doctors to stay in a place with better air quality. The Air Quality Index in Delhi reached 375 (classified as ‘severe’) on Tuesday, while Jaipur recorded 72 (classified as ‘moderate’). Rahul Gandhi, currently engaged in addressing rallies for upcoming state assembly elections, will visit his mother in Jaipur before proceeding to Chhattisgarh. After addressing rallies in Chhattisgarh, he will return to Jaipur and continue his scheduled events in the state on Thursday.
Sonia Gandhi had been hospitalized in September after displaying fever symptoms and was discharged the following day. This precautionary move is not new for her, as she had previously relocated to Goa in the winter of 2020 on the advice of her doctors to avoid Delhi’s pollution.
