Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group, shared a captivating video on a social media platform. The video showcases the Kalu Waterfall in Maharashtra, where powerful winds create the mesmerizing illusion of water falling in an upward direction.
Accompanying the video, he posed a reflective question, saying, “Kalu Waterfall in Maharashtra. Powerful winds made it appear as if the water was falling ‘upwards!’ When faced with a deluge of seemingly uncontrollable events, can we be the force that propels it up, up, and away?”
The post garnered numerous reactions from online users who praised the captivating sight. One user expressed, “Certainly! When confronted with a cascade of unpredictable events, we can mimic the forces of nature. Much like the winds at Kalu Waterfall, we possess the ability to adapt, innovate, and mold our circumstances, redirecting the challenges away from overwhelming us.”
Another user pointed out, “During the rainy season, there are many waterfalls that exhibit this phenomenon and are referred to as reverse waterfalls. The real excitement lies in rappelling down such waterfalls.” A third user extended gratitude to Anand, saying, “Thank you, sir, for showcasing the natural beauty of our Murbad, located in the Malshej hills in the Thane district.”
In the previous month, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts (MHRIL) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Uttarakhand (UK) on September 14. Anand Mahindra took to a social media platform to announce this significant venture, stating, “Home is where the heart is. We believe that one of the most significant hospitality opportunities in the world lies in India, with the thriving domestic tourism sector.”
This venture entails an investment of ₹1,000 crore with the goal of developing 4-5 prominent resorts in Uttarakhand over the next few years, as reported by BusinessLine.
These new resorts, situated in Uttarakhand, are designed to cater to various forms of tourism, including religious tourism in Haridwar and Char Dhams, wildlife exploration in Rajaji and Corbett National Parks, ski tourism in Auli, and adventure tourism in Rishikesh. With this investment, MHRIL aims to double its presence in Uttarakhand, expanding its current resorts located in Jim Corbett, Mussoorie, Kanatal, and Binsar.
