The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to kick off in less than 10 days. Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have already begun their practice camp, with the team’s captain Faf du Plessis and other players in attendance. However, RCB’s star batsman Virat Kohli has not yet joined the camp. Kohli recently did not participate in the five-match Test series between India and England. Fans are hopeful that Kohli will make a comeback on the field in the IPL.
Virat Kohli could join the camp soon
In Royal Challengers Bangalore’s practice camp, West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has also joined the team besides their captain Faf du Plessis. According to a BCCI source, Kohli is expected to join the team in the practice camp in the next few days and could be a part of the camp until March 18. He may also attend the annual RCB Unbox event. RCB’s first match of the upcoming season is against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings on March 22 at the Chepauk Stadium. Several Indian cricket stars have already arrived at RCB’s camp.
Du Plessis praises coach Andy Flower
RCB’s captain Faf du Plessis has praised the team’s new coach Andy Flower, stating that Flower is an excellent coach and the team is fortunate to have him. Flower also expressed excitement about the upcoming season, saying that they are fully prepared to write a new chapter with the team and are quite thrilled about it. RCB had a mediocre performance in the previous IPL season, narrowly missing out on a spot in the playoffs with 7 wins and 7 losses in 14 league matches. RCB will play a total of 5 matches in the first phase of the upcoming season, facing CSK on March 22, Punjab Kings on March 25, Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29, Lucknow Super Giants on April 2, and Rajasthan Royals on April 6. Three of these matches will be played at RCB’s home ground.
