Saiyami Kher’s cherished dream of meeting cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar came true as she not only got to meet him but also demonstrated her ‘Ghoomer’ style bowling after he watched R Balki’s film.
Revealing this remarkable moment, Saiyami Kher shared a video on Instagram, capturing Sachin Tendulkar’s interaction with her and his praise for her recent film Ghoomer. Directed by R Balki, Ghoomer portrays Saiyami as a young cricketer who attains a place in the Indian team but loses her right hand in a tragic road accident just hours before playing against England.
For Saiyami, meeting Sachin was a childhood dream that seemed unattainable. In her Instagram post, she expressed, “My hero, my inspiration, my teacher. I have loved and learned this game watching him play. I’ve bunked college to watch him play. I’ve had the loudest ‘Sachinnn Sachhhin’ chant in the North Stand. So, I can’t seem to explain what this means to me.”
She recounted the iconic moments of Sachin’s career that had left a lasting impact on her and contributed to her understanding of passion, perseverance, hard work, and humility. Saiyami shared how her friends had playfully teased her, saying, “Act, and someday Sachin will watch your film.”
Sachin’s praise for Ghoomer prompted a remarkable interaction between him and Saiyami. She joyfully recounted, “The God of Cricket asked me to show him how I bowled the Ghoomer. Dreams really do come true. This part of my life is called happiness.”
Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar had praised Ghoomer on social media, commending the performances of the cast, including Saiyami Kher, and labeling the film as an inspirational watch for youngsters.
Saiyami Kher’s heartfelt narrative also included her childhood aspirations to emulate Sachin Tendulkar’s versatility and skill. She reminisced about wanting to master ambidexterity like her cricket idol, along with her attachment to her grandmother and the desire to have her own Indian cricket jersey with her name on it.
