Today, at 2:15 pm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the second edition of the advanced semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train, adorned in saffron colors, connecting Varanasi and New Delhi. The train is set to offer convenience to travelers heading to Prayagraj, Kanpur, and New Delhi.
The regular operation of the Vande Bharat Express is slated to commence from December 20. The Varanasi-New Delhi route of the Vande Bharat Express will depart from Varanasi at 6 am, reaching Prayagraj at 7:34 am, Kanpur Central at 9:30 am, and New Delhi at 2:05 pm. On its return journey, the train will leave New Delhi at 3 pm, arriving at Kanpur Central at 7:12 pm, Prayagraj at 9:15 pm, and concluding its journey in Varanasi at 11:05 pm. The train will operate six days a week, excluding Thursdays.
The first Vande Bharat train, currently running between New Delhi and Varanasi, departs from Delhi at 6 am and reaches its destination station at 2 pm. The return journey starts at 3 pm from Varanasi and reaches New Delhi at 11 pm. It operates six days a week, excluding Thursdays.
The Northern Railway highlighted that the new Vande Bharat train features a saffron color scheme and incorporates various enhancements. Notable amenities include onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, a GPS-based passenger information system, luxurious interiors, and bio-vacuum toilets with touch-free functionalities.
Additional features include diffused LED lighting, charging points beneath every seat, individual touch-based reading lights, and concealed roller blinds. The train boasts an improved heat ventilation and air-conditioning system with a UV lamp for germ-free air supply. The intelligent air-conditioning system adapts cooling based on climate conditions and occupancy levels.
