To make the village plastic and garbage-free, she started a ‘Bartan Bank’ that offers steel utensils for rent at nominal rates. Her initiative aimed not only to reduce plastic waste but also to transform the village into a ‘garbage-free’ and ‘plastic-free’ area.
Chhavi Rajavat, who has twice been the Sarpanch of Soda village near Jaipur, is referred to as the country’s first MBA Sarpanch. Both these women Sarpanches are highly followed on social media for their proactive and distinctive approach to rural development.
