Royal Enfield has introduced the Himalayan 450 adventure tourer, slated to replace the Himalayan 411 in the global lineup, marking its debut at the Motoverse 2023 event in Goa. The new model is available in three variants: Base, Pass, and the top-tier Summit. The Base variant features the Kaza Brown color, while the Pass variant offers Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue colors. The Summit variant comes in Kamit White and Hanle Black color options.
Pricing starts at ₹2.69 lakh for the Base variant, ₹2.74 lakh for the Pass variant, ₹2.79 lakh for the Summit variant in Kamet White, and ₹2.84 lakh for the Summit variant in Hanle Black. Note that these are introductory prices valid until December 31.
The Himalayan 450 is equipped with the newly-developed Sherpa 450 engine, a 450 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit, a first for Royal Enfield. The engine delivers 39.4 bhp of peak power and 40 Nm of maximum torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slipper clutch.
Notable features include an in-house all-digital center console with turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps, Ride-By-Wire with two riding modes (Eco and Performance), switchable dual-channel ABS, all-LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, a new joystick, and adjustable seat heights.
Competing with models like the KTM 390 Adventure, Triumph Scrambler 400 X, and Yezdi Adventure, the Himalayan 450 aims to make a significant impact in the adventure tourer segment. Deliveries are set to commence at a later date.
