Bhopal: Election campaigning has come to a halt in Madhya Pradesh, where voting for the state’s 230 assembly seats is scheduled for November 17. After the suspension of election campaigning, candidates will now focus on door-to-door visits and engaging with the public. It should be noted that campaigning in the Naxal-affected districts of Balaghat, Mandla, and Dindori, covering six seats, had already concluded at 3 PM. The electoral face-off between the Congress and the BJP is set to take place on November 17 in Madhya Pradesh.
The Congress is led by Chief Minister Kamal Nath, while the BJP has not yet revealed its chief ministerial candidate. If the BJP forms the government, the face of the chief minister will be disclosed at that time. The election campaigning came to a halt at 6 PM today, and henceforth, no permission is granted for public meetings and road shows anywhere in Madhya Pradesh.
Candidates are now limited to reaching out to the public through door-to-door visits. It is worth mentioning that both parties’ leaders campaigned vigorously during the election period. Numerous prominent leaders from the BJP and Congress in Madhya Pradesh interacted with the public and made promises. Several key figures in the election, from Prime Minister Modi to Rahul Gandhi, were seen campaigning in Madhya Pradesh, addressing election rallies.
