A gentleman sought medical help after experiencing unexplained nosebleeds and swollen lips. To his shock, doctors discovered an infestation of live bugs in his nasal passages and sinuses.
A disturbing video originating from Florida has circulated online, depicting the unsettling scene of medical professionals removing live insects from the nasal cavity of a man. The unnamed individual sought treatment at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital after enduring a prolonged period of feeling unwell and suffering from frequent nosebleeds. Doctors uncovered the startling revelation that nearly 150 live bugs had taken residence within his nasal passages, causing his distressing symptoms.
Speaking to First Coast News, the patient recounted his ordeal, describing how his facial swelling and constant nosebleeds had severely impacted his daily life. His symptoms, which began in 2023, were attributed to his history of neuroblastoma, a condition he battled approximately three decades ago, resulting in the surgical removal of a cancerous tumor from his nasal region.
Upon examination by Dr. David Carlson, the presence of numerous live bugs within the patient’s nasal passages and sinuses was confirmed. These insects, which were not microscopic in size, were found to be actively feeding and generating excrement, thereby creating a toxic environment that led to inflammation and tissue damage.
Dr. Carlson expressed grave concern over the extent of the infestation, highlighting the erosion near critical areas of the skull base, close to the patient’s eye and brain. Immediate intervention was necessary to address the potentially life-threatening situation.
Following treatment, which included a specialized anti-parasitic rinse, the patient is expected to undergo regular evaluations to monitor his recovery progress. Despite the severity of his condition, he is anticipated to achieve a full recovery with ongoing medical care.
