Actor Ranjeet, renowned for portraying antagonistic roles in films, revealed that Madhuri Dixit was hesitant to act in the movie “Prem Pratigya” because she was reluctant to share screen space with him. Ranjeet, who played characters involved in harassment on screen, stated that his image led to difficulties in his personal life, even hindering his chances of marriage. He expressed how playing similar roles became monotonous, involving repetitive scenes of grabbing sarees and getting beaten up.
Recalling an incident from “Prem Pratigya,” Ranjeet mentioned that Madhuri Dixit almost declined the film due to a scene where he was supposed to molest her character. He was unaware of the issue until action director Veeru Devgan informed him. During the shoot, Veeru Devgan suggested filming the scene continuously to capture genuine reactions. Despite his usual post-scene discussions being overlooked, Ranjeet received a compliment from Madhuri, who stated that she didn’t realize he had touched her.
Reflecting on the intimate scenes he became known for, Ranjeet emphasized that these scenes are choreographed like dance sequences and are not based on real-life incidents. He revealed that he often guided his co-stars on how to enhance the scenes, ensuring their comfort during the filming process.
