Discussing his past conflicts with Kareena Kapoor and Kajol, filmmaker Karan Johar is set to share insights into these incidents in an upcoming episode of Koffee With Karan 8. During a conversation with guests Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday, Karan revealed that he had experienced differences with his close friends “twice in my life.”
Karan’s Clash with Kareena Regarding his dispute with Kareena Kapoor in 2003, Karan revealed that they didn’t communicate for 1.5 years, primarily stemming from issues related to the film “Kal Ho Na Ho.” After Karan’s father was diagnosed with cancer, Kareena reached out to him. According to the report, Karan stated, “She said, ‘I don’t know what to say,’ and I replied, ‘Don’t say anything. I know you are there.’ When he passed away, she was in Bangkok, and we still hadn’t reconciled. The moment she returned from her shoot, she came home. We spent the entire night chatting, and we mended our relationship. When we had our disagreement, I declared that I would never speak to her again.”
Karan’s Conflict with Kajol Karan also recollected a conflict with Kajol, which transpired several years after his dispute with Kareena. He referred to their connection as an “emotional bond” that had grown distant, making him believe that their friendship could never be the same. Karan recounted a moment when he messaged Kajol and shared pictures of his children, Yash and Roohi, when they were born. At that time, they hadn’t conversed for two years.
In Karan’s words, “I told her she didn’t need to reply, but I sent her pictures of my children, Yash and Roohi. She messaged back, saying, ‘I am just full of love right now.’ A month later, she told me it was her birthday, and I didn’t have to come, but I went. We hugged, we cried, and the discord was resolved.”
Both Kajol and Kareena have worked in various films directed by Karan, including “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” and “My Name Is Khan.”
