Gorakhpur News: A significant incident occurred at the Composite Vidyalaya Ramapur Dadi in Gorakhpur. On Wednesday afternoon, the village head came to the school premises to learn to drive a car. Meanwhile, students were studying in the open, and the head was practicing driving by making circular movements. At that moment, instead of the brake, he accidentally pressed the accelerator, leading to a major accident.
Jagran Correspondent, Gorakhpur: A major incident occurred in Gorakhpur on Wednesday. The village head of Khorabar, who was learning to drive a car, ran over eight students sitting outside the classroom at Composite Vidyalaya Ramapur Dadi. Chaos ensued in the school premises after the incident.
With the help of local residents, the injured students were taken to the district hospital, from where they were referred to B.R.D. Medical College. The village head has been taken into custody. The District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police visited the district hospital and B.R.D. Medical College to inquire about the condition of the injured.
Car Climbs Over Students: At noon, around 12 o’clock, eight students of classes three and four were sitting outside the school, studying. During this time, the village head Lalbachan Nishad arrived with a car and started practicing driving in the school ground. In the process, the car went out of control, and it ran over the students studying outside the classroom. Preeti, Sakshi, Mansi, Ragini, Anushka from Class four, and Priyanka, Dev, and Praveen from Class two were crushed. Assistant teachers Nootan Singh and Pooja Tripathi rushed to rescue them.
Screams and Chaos: After the accident, screams and chaos erupted in the school premises. After the villagers gathered, the school was closed. Injured students Preeti, Sakshi, and Praveen were admitted to B.R.D. Medical College with serious head injuries.
Principal’s Statement: Principal Sarita Gupta of Composite Vidyalaya Ramapur Dadi stated that as per the information received, the village head was supposed to provide milk to the children. He arrived with the car to fetch milk. Due to reckless driving while leaving, the incident occurred.
Discussion – Son was Driving the Car: Upon learning of the incident, ASP City Krishna Kumar Bishnoi and ASP/CO Cantonment Manush Parik reached the spot. There is speculation in the village that the head’s son was driving the car at the time of the incident.
