John Schneider, the runner-up on ‘The Masked Singer,’ faced the cancellation of his scheduled Fox press interviews following a controversial social media post targeting President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor, known for his role in ‘The Dukes of Hazzard,’ had shared a contentious message on X (formerly Twitter), prompting Fox to withdraw his planned media appearances. Schneider’s deleted post, captured by the West Coast editor of Vulture, responded to a tweet by Biden regarding former President Donald Trump. In the post, Schneider stated, “Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung [sic]. Your son too. Your response is…? Sincerely, John Schneider.”
This incident unfolded after Schneider bid a heartfelt farewell on ‘The Masked Singer,’ where he was unmasked as Donut in the season 10 finale, earning praise from the judges. The emotional singer revealed that he had lost his wife, Alicia, to cancer a year ago and credited the show for empowering him.
While Schneider gained fame as Bo Duke on the original ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ series, the show featured the Confederate flag on the car named Robert E Lee, acknowledging the historical figure who owned slaves. Beyond his iconic role, Schneider has been part of various projects, including Tyler Perry’s ‘The Haves and the Have Nots,’ ‘Smallville,’ ‘Felicity,’ ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ film, and ‘Dancing With The Stars.’
