CG Coronavirus: Once again, Chhattisgarh is grappling with an increase in COVID-19 cases. In a recent development, an 81-year-old individual residing in Bhilai camp succumbed to the virus. He was afflicted with various ailments, including kidney issues, and had been admitted to Sector-9 Hospital in Bhilai for treatment. Tragically, he passed away around 9:30 PM on Thursday.
The count of active COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh has risen to 31. In the past 24 hours, the state has identified 12 new patients, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 31. Durg district in Chhattisgarh reported the highest number of new cases on Thursday.
Among the new cases, one each was reported from Rajnandgaon and Raipur, two from Raigarh, one from Janjgir-Champa, and one from Bastar. Durg district currently has the highest number of active cases, with 11, followed by Raipur with seven. The state conducted tests on 4,255 samples in the last 24 hours, with 12 patients testing positive. The overall positive rate for COVID-19 in the state has increased to 0.28%, up from 0.15% on Wednesday.
Health department officials emphasize that hospitals have received guidelines to manage COVID-19 cases effectively. Medical institutions have been instructed to test patients suffering from cold, cough, and fever for COVID-19. It is crucial for the public to exercise caution, wear masks when leaving their homes, and undergo COVID-19 testing if experiencing symptoms such as cough, cold, or fever.
