Air India is set to launch its inaugural A350 aircraft on domestic routes starting January 22, with the maiden flight scheduled from Bengaluru to Mumbai. The A350-900 aircraft features a three-class cabin configuration, comprising 316 seats, including 28 business class, 24 premium economy, and 264 economy seats.
The airline announced, “India’s first Airbus A350 will enter commercial service on 22 January 2024.” Initially, the aircraft will be utilized on domestic routes for crew familiarization and adherence to regulatory requirements. The A350 will operate flights connecting Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. Subsequently, it will be deployed for extended international flights to destinations spanning continents.
On December 23, Air India received its initial A350-900 aircraft, marking the arrival of the first among the 20 A350s ordered. Bookings for flights operated by the A350 commenced on Monday.
